SAP and Adobe Systems partnered to create a solution that enables enterprises of any size to quickly and easily develop interactive, digital forms that can be directly integrated into business processes. This joint solution which leverages the SAP NetWeaver ® platform specifically integrates Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) forms directly into any business process supported by Web-based SAP® applications.

SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe helps to bridge the paper-to-digital divide by helping organizations that rely heavily on paper forms to leverage the versatility, consistency, and accessibility of electronic forms.

Interactive Forms enables organizations in any industry to extend the power of SAP and other software to improve customer communications and become more efficient. The tool helps to reach more users internally and externally by helping them to create online and offline interactive forms in Adobe Portable Document Format.

Portable Document Format (PDF) and software from Adobe Systems Inc. has been integrated into the SAP environment. Create interactive forms in PDF format and allow users to fill out the form on the screen and save their entries in XML format in the form. When the SAP system receives the PDF form, it extracts the data saved in the form, and can process it further. You can also merge a form template with current system data to generate a PDF document that can then be printed or sent by e-mail.

SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe is integrated into no less than six SAP development and run-time environments, which cover both stacks of SAP NetWeaver as well as mySAP ERP.

Integration of the Adobe technology into the Web Application Server of SAP NetWeaver, all SAP solutions like form design, online and offline form processing and output distribution are done from the areas of human resources, financials, and operations, and were shipped with mySAP ERP 2004.
